Summer outreach at the Anita Purves Nature Center in Urbana, Illinois, USA! In collaboration with the Urbana Park District and their summer camps, we ran mist-netting clinics to give local campers (ages 6-11) hands on experience with birds! Check out this awesome summary video recorded and compiled by UPD camp counselor Nick Cagle (thanks Nick!).
I am teaching Vertebrate Natural History in fall 2022 at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and the class got announced over the summer so we only had two students enrolled two weeks before the start of the semester! I decided to use my guitar to try to coax some new students into the class and it worked - in three days, we went from 2 to 12 students. I'll have to record these types of videos more often, apparently :).
